Our Story

Built for early mornings, tight lines, and family time.

We’re two girl dads who love the outdoors. We built Tackle More Fishing to inspire others to gear up, get outside, and make more memories - whether that’s fishing, biking, hiking, or simply spending quality time together.

How It Started

A GARAGE, A COOLER,
AND A DREAM

That’s where Tackle More Fishing began — two friends, both fathers and girl dads, talking about life after another long day. Between fishing trips, family cookouts, and weekends spent outdoors, they realized something important: The best memories were never about the biggest fish.

They were about early mornings on the water, bikes laying in the driveway after sunset, hiking trails with the kids, and laughing around a cooler with the people who matter most.

So they built Tackle More Fishing — not just as a fishing brand, but as a reminder to slow down, gear up, and get outside. Whether it’s casting lines at sunrise, hitting the trails, or spending quality time with family, we believe the outdoors brings people together in a way nothing else can.

What We Stand For

OUR MISSION

Gear up. Get out. Tackle More.

Gear Up — Build Confidence.

We help anglers prepare with the right knowledge, gear, and guidance so they head to the water feeling confident—not overwhelmed.

Get Out — Respect Time.

Fishing shouldn't require hours of research. We simplify the planning so you can spend less time preparing and more time doing what you love.

Tackle More — Make More Memories.

Every trip is an opportunity to create lasting experiences with family, friends, or on your own. Catching fish is great—but making memories is what matters most.

The People

MEET THE TEAM

Chris

Chris

Lifelong fisherman, >40 years

Founder & Captain

Proud girl dad, professional tailgate planner, part-time fishing expert wannabe, full-time light beer enthusiast, and the kind of guy who'll buy new tackle before admitting he doesn't know what lure to throw. Believes the best memories are made outside, preferably with a fishing rod in one hand and a cold beer in the other.

Andy

Andy

Rookie, <5 years

Founder, First Mate (and really tall)

Family man, outdoor addict, tackle collector, and the guy most likely to say "one last cast" six times before finally leaving the lake. Runs on fun, bad fishing advice, and the belief that every great day starts outside with family, friends, and a cooler nearby.

The Journey

HOW WE GOT HERE

2016

Two dads met on the soccer sidelines, coaching multiple teams together. Quickly discovering a shared sense of humor, similar interests, and families that just clicked — the foundation of a great friendship was laid.

2018

A mutual love for cooking and BBQ led to the creation of an official BBQ team, competing in Atlantic City and Wildwood competitions. Friendships are forged over fire.

2020

COVID brought our families even closer. As part of the same pod, we made it through with theme night dinners, good company, and a lot of laughs.

2021

Andy, strolling by the lake and reflecting on life in his 40s, watched a fisherman and thought — that looks relaxing. One text to Chris — a lifelong fisherman who never needed much convincing to get out on the water — and they were fishing together the very next day. Andy was hooked (pun absolutely intended). The following months were a deep dive into learning, gear, and casting — and he hasn't stopped since.

2022

Andy's infamous inflatable pontoon boat hit the local lakes, reigniting Chris's love for freshwater fishing. Happy hours on the water, catching bass, pickerel, and sunnies became a regular ritual. That summer, both families vacationed together in Charleston — including a shark fishing trip with their daughters that landed 9 sharks. Pure memories.

2023

After three months of thorough research (very on-brand), Chris purchased his kayak. The kayak and pontoon became a fixture on local lakes, with Chris passing along his knowledge — and spending nearly as much time rigging and prepping the kayak with every possible feature as actually fishing.

2024

Andy bought his kayak. Lessons were learned. Most notably — February lake water is absolutely freezing, and standing up in a kayak takes more practice than anticipated. The infamous man overboard moment has since become legend. Meanwhile, Chris upgraded to a new motor for his saltwater boat, adding more saltwater adventures to the mix alongside a steady diet of freshwater fishing.

2025

Competition was officially formalized with the creation of the Golden Bass Trophy — an annual freshwater bass contest between the two. After roughly two months of negotiating the rules (some things take time), the trophy was awarded. It currently sits in the Rookie's home. Luck matters in fishing.

2026

Over cold beers in the garage, watching spring rain roll in, Tackle More Fishing came to life. The goal: build a community and one-stop resource for all things fishing — rooted in fun, positivity, and the simple reminder that it's never too late to pick up a new hobby.
